In a brief context, architecture of web development is based on the following two things:-

1. Front End Development

2. Back End Development

Front End Development:

Front end development is one of the two legs of the web development industry. Front end development is totally based on how a web page looks like in the browser. In front end development, we design web pages to show to the user. This is also known as Web designing. A front end web developer develops good looking user interfaces so that the data is showed to the user in a good looking web page. It's a myth that front end development is easier than the back end development, but it's not the fact. These two things are totally different from each other and can't be compared.

Back End Development:

Back end development is the other aspect of the web development industry. Back end development is based on how data is managed and stored efficiently and easily. The back end development environment is totally different and a bit complicated as compared to front end development (but it's not very hard to learn and implement). A back end developer must have a good knowledge of front end development, so that he/she can receive data from the user and store it to the database and send back the data from the database server to the front end.

Full Stack Development:

As the name suggests, the full stack development refers to the combination of both front end and back end. But a question arises, that is it possible that a single person can be a front end developer as well as a back end developer ? Well, the answer is yes. Infact one can be a full stack developer with the extra knowledge in different branches of computer science and technology. The most important thing is one should have ambition to learn different things.

How to start Web Development?

Since, we have gained the knowledge about what is web development and it's architecture, a very genuine question arises in the mind of an absolute beginner, that from where should I start web development, what should I learn, how should I learn and how to apply my skills, and it's an obvious question. So the answer for all of these questions will be slowly discussed.

Technologies and languages required for Web Development

Another obvious question that arises in the mind of a beginner is what languages and technologies are required for web development. Well, the answer for this question is discussed below:

Languages for Web Development:-

Front end development - 

 The main and basic languages required for front end development are:

1.  HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language)                              
2.  CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
3.  JavaScript

One should have a good knowledge of all of these languages for a successful front end developer. But the above languages are not enough for modern web development, some of the frameworks and libraries are also required for developing robust, dynamic and enterprise web apps.

Back end Development - 

  The most important technologies for back end development are:

1. PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor)
2. Node js
3. ASP.NET
4. Django
5. Java Servlets and Java Server Pages(JSP)
6. Ruby on Rails
7. Laravel and many more

But the above technologies are not enough for back end development. Along with these technologies, we require other technologies like web sockets, web services, databases, and some other frameworks. A person does not require the knowledge all of these technologies for back end development, you should learn a couple or three of these technologies (this belief varies from person to person).

Now, you are familiar with the aspects of web development. This blog makes you familiar with the basics of web development. You should at least learn the above mentioned languages and technologies for starting a career in web development. So, start learning these technologies as soon as possible
